Razorgore the UntamedRazorgore resides inside the Egg Chamber, which is the first room at the top of the ramp when you enter Blackwing Lair. To progress beyond this room, you must first defeat him. Divide your raid group into four groups, each balanced with all class types. Once Gerthok is killed each party needs to rush to the four cardinal points of the room (except for groups seven and eight, which remain where they are). Basic Strategy: The first order in this fight is to secure the Orb, which is on the left side of the room. It will be used to mind-control Razorgore. The next task is to make Razorgore destroy all the eggs in the room. Once this is done, you will kill Razorgore. This sounds simple, but once you've begun your attack, several dozen Orcs and dragonkin spawn. They will attack both your raid and Razorgore. If Razorgore dies before the eggs are all destroyed, he casts an AoE spell that kills everyone in the room. Basic Tips:
There are numerous ways to approach this encounter, although all of them seem to be variations which include kiting, mind controlling, and use of fear. The first step however, is the same. Gerthok the Controller and his two Blackwing Lair guards must be killed. This is simple and straightforward. When your raid group enters Blackwing Lair, run up the ramp, and turn left at the top. Group up under the sheltered area in the far SW corner. This is a safe area where you can buff. Send the person who will be the first to take control of the orb out into the room and near the orb. Target Gerthok and kill him, then kill his two guards. This is a very easy fight. Strategy One: As soon as you have killed these three, have the parties rush to their respective corners. Raid members in the corners kill the Blackwing Mages as quickly as you can after they enter the door. Get a kiting rotation going, using Hunters and/or Warriors, and have the kiters start circling the room, dragging Dragonkin and Blackwing Legionnaires with them. Loose Dragonkin and Legionnaires should be sheeped by Mages or seduced by Warlocks, until a kiter can collect them on his next pass. Kiters should not stop circling the room, for any reason. If they do, they're going to start taking immediate damage and will die in seconds. Leave loose Dragonkin and Blackwing Legionnaires for the next kiter. The kiting job is simple. Pull a few of the Dragonkin and Blackwing Legionnaires, then start running. Warriors can use Piercing Howl to pull, and Hunters can use traps to assist, or pull and kite too. Run up the stairs on each side, jump off the ledge near the end of the platform, and run across the room to the other side. Repeat this until all of the eggs are broken. Of the three types of mobs in Razorgore's chambers, Blackwing Mages can be killed or mind controlled, but not kited. They are the weakest of the mobs and should be dealt with as soon as they appear. Legionnaires can be kited or killed, but are not an easy fight. They are difficult for cloth wearers. Kite as many as possible. Dragonkin are very difficult to kill and are easiest to control by kiting. While the raid party is concentrating on all the adds, a tank group uses the orb to control Razorgore and make him destroy the eggs. Start with those nearest the platform first, then move him from south to north to destroy the remaining eggs. Use his fire balls and his AoE taunt to pull aggro away from raid. The Orb controller should be breaking eggs almost non stop. When there are only five or six eggs left the Orb controller can use Fire Volley. Swap controllers, then have the first controller help kite until the final eggs are destroyed. When all of the eggs are destroyed, the remaining Legionnaires and Mages will vanish.
Make sure you keep the control platform kept clear so that Mage AoE doesn't kill or break channeling by the orb user. Warlocks can use single target fear spells on the Dragonkin if they start to overwhelm a particular area. Druids can sleep Dragonkin if they get loose and help with heals. Shamans should be placing Earthbind Totems in the center of the room to help with Legionnaire kiting and assist with low rank heals on the kiters when they can. Once the eggs are broken the MT immediately engages Razorgore while the rest of the raid party stands just out of range. He turns Razorgore so that the party is behind him. The OT stand out of range in waiting mode. When the MT group is hit with Conflagration, the OT tank group needs to step in and assume aggro, while the first tank group heals. This should be a ranged DPS fight for the most part, with the tank groups swapping off and maintaining enough aggro to keep Razorgore at a distance from the DPS group. Strategy Two: Phase One:
