Lucifron
Success in The Molten Core depends on careful planning, a good communication setup, and everyone paying attention to their job and doing it correctly.
Lucifron's Attacks: Impending Doom: This is a magic debuff which does 2000 shadow damage, which occurs 10 seconds after it's cast. It has a 40 yard range and he recasts it every 25 seconds. It should be removed before the 10 second timer is up. Lucifron's Curse: This is an AOE attack which doubles the cost of mana/rage/energy. It has a five minute duration and a range of about 30 yards. Mages and/or Druids should remove it. Shadow Strike: This is a melee-range shadow attack and will do considerable damage to the main target. Main Tanks can wear shadow resistance gear to help mitigate damage, but healing will be needed throughout the fight. Positioning: Exit the Imp Cave as soon as they are all downed, and line up against the back wall, to the right of the exit. Pulling groups should line up by the big rock that is at the top of the inlet. Strategy: Lucifron has two guards which you need to pull to the back (south) part of the cave. A Tank, attended by healers, keeps Lucifron occupied, while the rest of the party attacks the guards. The tank party occupying Lucifron will need to have healers set up a rotation prior to the fight, since keeping this party alive is essential. The guards should be handled one at a time. Once the tank assigned to the first guard has aggro and has applied sunders (five is the optimum number), the rest of the party can start DoT attacks. Healers need to make sure that Impending Doom is removed from party members. All party members should be prepared to use bandages and/or potions to heal themselves, as the curses will occupy most of the healers time. Once the guards are downed, the entire party focuses on Lucifron. Healers need to keep Impending Doom off of all raid members, and Shadow Strike off of themselves. Killing Lucifron involves the basic raid attack; MT applies sunders and holds aggro, DoT raiders keep DoTs applied, and Lucifron is DPS'd down. Rogues can use feint to help insure that the MT holds aggro. This is not a difficult fight, if each person pays attention to their job.
