ChromaggusChromaggus' Attacks: Chromaggus will randomly be assigned two of the following breath attacks each week, for each raid who enters the instance. They will remain his attacks for the entire week, until the instance is reset for your group, at which time the breath attacks change. Each breath attack is cast every 30 seconds, on an alternating basis. Corrosive Acid: This attack reduces armor by 3900-5100 for 15 seconds and causes 875-1125 points of damage every three seconds for 15 seconds. Frenzy: This attack greatly increases Flamegor's attack rate. Flamegor attempts to cast it every 5-10 seconds. Ignite Flesh: This DOT attack causes 655-845 fire damage every three seconds for 60 seconds. Incinerate: This fire attack causes damage of about 4200 points. Shimmering Skin: This spell causes Chromaggus to become weak to a random magic element. Frost Burn: This attack reduces attack speed by 80 percent, causes about 2200 damage, and burns mana. Time Lapse: This spell freezes everyone who is hit for 5 seconds and reduces health by 50 percent. Chromaggus will not continue to attack anyone who is in the Time Lapse state, but will turn his attention to whoever is highest on the aggro list and not affected by the breath. Those affected by Time Lapse will have their aggro cleared. When the 5 seconds elapses, affected players health is restored to its original state, which in effect heals you. In addition to the breath attacks, casts debuffs known as Brood Aflliction. Each Affliction stacks and hits 20 random raiders, not just those who are in line of sight. If any player is hit by all five Afflictions, and they are allowed to remain, that player will turn into an elite Dragonoid, which usually ends in wiping the party. The only way to deal with such a player is to either chain polymorph them for the rest of the fight, or to kill them. Killing them results in Chromaggus regaining a substantial amount of health. Set up a cleansing team to deal with the Afflictions. Make sure every raider has 2 or 3 Hourglass Sands and in a quick slot. Brood Aflliction - Bronze : Stuns for 4 seconds at random intervals and has a duration of 10 minutes. This debuff can only be removed by Hourglass Sand. Brood Aflliction - Green (Poison): Reduces healing by 50 percent and causes 250 Nature Damage every 5 seconds. Brood Aflliction - Blue (Magic): Reduces movement speed by 70 percent, drains 50 mana per second, and increases spell casting time by 50 percent. Brood Aflliction - Black (Curse): Fire damage taken is increased by 100 percent. Brood Aflliction - Red (Disease): Causes 50 damage every 3 seconds. If a player dies with Red Affliction on them Chromaggus will be 100 percent healed. Basic Tips:
This is a long fight, but once learned, it not actually that difficult. Patience is a must. There is not actually a pull for this fight. Simply tank Chromaggus where he is standing. The MT should gain aggro and back Chromaggus into position, staying barely within Line of Sight of the healers, who should be against the wall. Assign someone to time Frenzy, and use Tranquilizing Shot to make sure Chromaggus doesn't remain Frenzied. Every 20-30 seconds Chromaggus will emote, "Chromaggus' skin begins to shimmer." This is a signal that the attack that he's weak to is changing. Exploit that weakness to keep damage at its maximum. The first breath attack will occur at 30 seconds into the fight. Use a timer and at 25 seconds, everyone but the MT should move flat against the wall, ourt of his Line of Sight, so that they do not get hit. Once he uses the breath, the party should move back into position and continue the fight. Continue this throughout the fight. Done successfully no one will ever get hit by a breath attack except for the MT.
