Broodlord LashlayerBroodlord Lashlayer's Attacks: Mortal Strike: This is an instant cast melee attack which will do 6000 damage to its target. If followed immediately by Blast Wave, total damage can be devastating. Blast Wave : This is an AoE fire based/knock back attack which targets melees in its range. Damage appears to be in the 3000-5000 range. Cleave : This attack is an AoE attack that will be aimed at melees in range. Knock Away : This is the Broodlord's most devastating attack. It can do 6000 damage to well geared Warriors and 15,000 to cloth wearers. It will be targeted at the first person on the threat list, and will reduce their threat by 50 percent when they are hit. There is a room just past Vaelastrasz which has two Dragonkin packs in it. Sleep the Wyrmkin while you kill the others one at a time, then kill the Wyrmkin. These are straight forward fights, and not difficult. The Suppression Rooms: After the room with the Dragonkin packs, you must make it through the two Suppression Rooms. These rooms are littered with suppression traps, and are guarded by Corrupted Whelps, Death Talon Hatchers, and Blackwing Taskmasters which patrol, and are on a 20 minute respawn timer. The suppression traps radiate an aura that reduces movement speed, attack speed, and casting speed to 20 percent until they are disarmed. Move as quickly as you safely can, as the Whelps respawn. Rogues need to be used to disarm the traps, which will rearm themselves at random intervals which range from a few seconds to a few minutes. They should remain in Stealth mode as they do so, with the raid party moving forward when ordered. You may wish to use Distract as an aid to the Rogues. Healers should concentrate on keeping the Warlocks and Mages alive, since they will be the ones to keep the Whelps under control, by use of AoE attacks. While the AoE classes control Whelps, Warriors tank the Dragonkin and Taskmasters. It's important to work efficiently, but to pull only one Dragonkin or one Orc pack at a time. Keep hugging the right wall until you reach the Broodlord. Each different color of Whelp represents a different resistence. For this reason, wand users should consider bringing a variety of wand types. It's very useful to the caster group for Mages to keep Mage Armor active, in order to keep mana pools regenerating. Casters should switch to wands when their mana drops. In the first Suppression Room, pull the elites from the Suppression Traps, and tank them in an area which isn't being hit with Suppression Auras. Keep pulling until there is only one dragonkin left, and then move into the SW corner of the room. This will keep all but the nearest whelp pack from aggroing as they respawn. Casters and Healers should use the time between respawns to regain mana and health. Once the last dragonkin has been killed, move into the hallway between the two Suppression Rooms. Continue destroying groups of elites until you can safely move into the SE corner of the second Suppression Room. Continue clearing the elites from this area. Once done, move the raid group into one of the little niche areas to prepare for the pull of the Broodlord. Basic Tips:
Tactics for this fight are simple. This is a straight forward fight, and once mastered, a relatively easy one for BWL. Warriors should position themselves against different walls and attack. From the outset they need to fight for aggro. Ranged DPS players should position themselves out of range of Blast Wave and burn him down. Rogues can use melee attacks if they have adequate Fire Resist gear, but should be aware that they will almost certainly die anyway. The trick is to balance aggro control, keeping in mind that every time Lashlayer uses Knock Away, he's reducing that targets aggro by 50 percent. You must kill him before your cloth wearers start gaining aggro, since at that point the fight becomes hopeless. The point that you should keep as many Warriors alive as possible cannot be overstated, or restated too many times. Keep them alive. Resurrect them and get them back in the fight as quickly as possible if you can. The Bosses:
